Mindörökké剧情简介

Only those are helpless who are left without help. A stone’s throw away in the future, Hungary lies in apocalyptic ruins left from a devastating war spreading to the west. The wreckage includes the will to live and the meaning of life of soldier Ocsenįs. He lives in a world where instead of shooting stars, planes are shooting from the sky, and instead of feelings, bullets delirium-cursed hit the heart. All that is left for Ocsenįs is to try and find a way in a futureless world where the grotesque incisiveness of the essence and expediency of help does not have any mercy in the warm world of emotions. ‘Perpetuity’ is an adaptation of a short story by renowned Hungarian author Sándor Tar, which notorious heavyweight Hungarian director György Pálfi has brought to rage in the world of film with bloodcurdling power. ‘Perpetuity’ establishes itself with a powerful punch at morality and goes on to relentlessly claw at the conscience of the viewers. Pįlfi has previously won recognition in the main competition programme of PÖFF and at the Sundance, San Sebastian, Karlovy Vary and Cannes film festivals with his ‘Taxiderma’ which premiered in 2016 and among other awards also won the film critics’ award in Estonia. ‘Perpetuity’ is a truly potent addition for a strong author, which does not compete with any of his previous works, but confirms the fact that Pálfi is Pálfi with his well-known quality regardless of the underlying material or genre limits.
